Apples, cucumbers, tomatoes, grapes, and berries are frequently coated with synthetic paraffin waxes, pesticide residues, and post-harvest fungicides to prolong supermarket shelf life. Plain tap water rolls off these hydrophobic coatings without removing them.
The Biological Produce Soak
EcoLyft’s Fruit & Vegetable wash uses triple-filtered food-safe pineapple enzymes that break down wax compounds and loosen soil particulates in just 3 minutes, without altering the fruit’s natural sweetness or crispness.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Bath
Fill a clean salad bowl or kitchen sink basin with 3 litres of room temperature water. Add 1 capful (15ml) of EcoLyft Fruit & Vegetable Wash and stir gently.
Step 2: Submerge Produce for 3 Minutes
Place berries, grapes, broccoli, or leafy greens into the enzyme solution. Swirl gently by hand for 30 seconds, then allow to soak undisturbed for 3 minutes.
Step 3: Quick Rinse & Dry
Lift produce out with a colander and rinse briefly under cold running water. Notice how the water sheet adheres cleanly rather than beading on artificial wax! Spin dry leafy greens or air-dry berries on a clean paper towel.
